CHINATOWN (WABC) -- A dump truck driver has been charged after police say he struck and killed a man in Lower Manhattan Friday.
24-year old Maykel Felix-Tejada of Paterson, N.J. was arrested on a charge of aggravated unlicensed driving.
The incident happened at about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Bowery and Canal Street in Chinatown.
Investigators said 78-year-old Ka Chor Yau was crossing Canal Street and in the middle of the street when he was struck. He was taken to the hospital after being struck by the truck. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation is ongoing.
