EAST FLATBUSH (WABC) -- Police have made an arrest in a series of armed robberies in Brooklyn.

Detectives apprehended the suspect Sunday in the East Flatbush home invasion pattern, where a man on a bicycle held up victims in their homes or on the street.

At least 16 incidents dating back to January were linked to the suspect.

The suspect, identified as 24 year old Lorenzo Chambers Brooklyn, has been charged so far with four incidents in the East Flatbush pattern and a fifth that was not part of the original pattern.

The investigation into the other incidents is ongoing.

Chambers has more than a dozen prior arrests dating back to 2007.

He is expected to be in court Monday.

Police had released surveillance video showing a suspect pointing a gun at a victim while riding his bike. In most instances, he either approaches the victims on the street or forces his way into their homes.

Luckily, none of the victims has been seriously hurt. One of them spoke to Eyewitness News, but did not want to be identified.

"I'm upset that he got away," the victim said.

The Brooklyn homeowner talked about the day he came face to face with the intruder inside his home, possibly the man seen in the sketch and on the video.

"He got into the home through a window," he said. "When I asked what the hell he was doing here, he pointed a gun and said don't move."

It happened the morning of Saturday, June 13. He says he had left his house for about 15 minutes, only to return and find the man dressed in dark clothing and holding a gun, standing inside his basement.

He says he didn't wrestle with the gunman, knowing his life was far more valuable than the things they intruder was taking.

"He got away with some personal things of mine," he said. "A watch, iPhone 5, and a xBox."

He then watched the gunman run down the block, hop on a bicycle and ride away.
