EAST NEW YORK (WABC) -- A woman who was struck by an out-of-control car in Brooklyn Wednesday morning has died.
The incident happened at Pennsylvania Avenue and Cozine Avenue in East New York around 10:30 a.m.
Two pedestrians were eastbound on Cozine when police say a 29-year-old woman driving a Toyota sedan southbound on Pennsylvania Avenue made a left turn onto Cozine, drove onto the sidewalk and struck the victims. It appears she lost control of the car, and authorities do not believe it was intentional.
She first slammed into a livery cab before striking 51-year-old Marcia Arthurs and a 59-year-old man.
Arthurs was pinned under the car and dragged. She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead from severe head and body trauma.
The man sustained lacerations to the face and is listed in stable condition.
The vehicle remained on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
No charges have been filed at this time.
