Car hits P.S. 36 on Linden Boulevard

A car crashed into a school in East New York Thursday morning.

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A car crashed into the side of a school in the East New York section of Brooklyn Thursday.

The car hit the side wall of the P.S. 36 at 2045 Linden Blvd., just after 7 a.m.

A stairwell that is not in use was on the other side of the wall the car hit. There did not appear to be any major structural damage.

The city buildings department will examine the integrity of the structure.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
