SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Charges will not be filed against a California mother accused of grabbing the throat of a 12-year-old boy she thought was bullying her daughter.

The 30-year-old mother, Delia Garcia-Bratcher, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse in the May 16 confrontation at a Santa Rosa elementary school. According to investigators, two students said they saw her grab the boy by the throat.

Sonoma County Prosecutors said that conflicting witness statements led to the charges being dropped. Most of the eyewitnesses were children, along with a few teacher.

However, there was no consensus about whether Garcia-Bratcher actually assaulted the boy.
