PARKCHESTER (WABC) -- A 32-year-old man is facing charges after police say he sneaked into an elementary school in the Bronx Thursday.

P.S. 536 in Parkchester was put under a lockdown as a result.

Now, Zenon Marte is facing stalking and harassment charges.

Authorities say he followed a 10-year-old girl at the school earlier this month.

When the girl's dad spotted him Thursday, officials say he ran into the school to try and escape.

Students were held in their classrooms as parents waited outside for dismissal time.

Marte reportedly has four prior arrests, including one from 2007 for felony attempted sex abuse and forcible touching of a child under 17.
