Tentative settlement reached to avoid bus strike

YONKERS -- Less than 48 hours before a potential bus strike that would affect Yonkers, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle, a tentative settlement was reached to avoid a strike.

The announcement of the settlement came at noon on Saturday.

On Friday afternoon, an emergency session of the Local 100 Executive Board convened to authorize the strike. The vote was 38-0 to approve the job action. Details on ratification will be announced early this week.
