Playboy magazine released their list of the top 10 party schools in the nation today, with one Ivy League institution at the top of the ranks.

For the first time in the magazine's nine year history of ranking party schools, the University of Pennsylvania topped the list, the first Ivy League institution to do so.

Out of the top ten spots, seven are public state universities, and Syracuse and UMiami are the only two private institutions besides Penn. According to Playboy, their rankings are based off of nightlife availability and creativity when it comes to planning parties. The magazine also incorporates data from the NCAA, the US Economic Census, and other sources when creating the rankings.

Playboy's party school rankings differ from those published by the Princeton Review earlier this August. While Playboy had Syracuse at 10, Princeton Review had the Orangemen in their top spot. Only four schools in total appear in the top 10 on both lists: Syracuse, West Virginia, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
