Joe Torres has more on the closing of Lincoln Plaza Cinemas on the Upper West Side.

It is the end of an era for cinema lovers in Manhattan.

On Sunday night, Lincoln Plaza Cinemas on the Upper West Side screened its last films.

The six-screen family-owned theater opened back in 1981 and was a destination for fans of independent and foreign movies.

The landlord reportedly plans to renovate the space and replace it with a new theater complex.
