Mayor and First Lady open Gracie Mansion to trick or treaters
A.J. Ross has the story of the de Blasios welcoming Halloween visitors.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- For one night, Gracie Mansion is going to be a haunted house.

New York City's official mayoral residence is going to host a Halloween party Tuesday night.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, his wife Chirlane McCray, and their two teenage children moved into the Manhattan mansion this year.

They are the first family to reside there since 2001. De Blasio's predecessor, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, chose to remain in his home.

De Blasio is unafraid to be goofy and has said in the past that a pirate outfit is his "go-to" Halloween costume.

Guests, who pre-registered for invites, were asked to bring a non-perishable food item for a charity drive.
