Kim Kardashian signs 'selfie' book in New York City
Sandy Kenyon has the story.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Tens of millions of people "like" her pictures on Facebook, and if you gather even a small fraction of her followers together, you get a big crowd.

People lined up and down Fifth Avenue for the chance to have a book of Kim Kardashian's self-taken photos signed.

"It's such an honor that they're even here to get the book, let alone to wait in line to come here," Kardashian said.

The wait was lengthy for a very brief encounter with a woman who originally gained fame just for being famous, but now apparently inspires a diverse crowd.

Her marriage to Kanye West and the daughter they have together ensures they are always the focus of attention on any red carpet, such as the one Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum.

West had plenty of input when it came to her new book of "selfies," like telling her not to put the sexiest photos in the book. He also thought up the title: "Selfish."

"I'm kind of in on the joke," Kardashian said. "I get it. It's definitely selfish and fun at the same time."

The release of the book comes a bit more than a week after her former stepfather, Bruce Jenner, told ABC's Diane Sawyer he was "the soul of a woman."

"I was really proud of him," Kardashian said. "It was very courageous and I respect the fact he wants to live the rest of his life the way he wants to."

Meeting her, one is left with a sense of respect at the way Kim has built a fortune of her own image.
