NEW YORK (WABC) -- Defense Attorney Annalise Keating who teaches her law students "How to Get Away with Murder" is married but unfaithful, and in this case TV is not imitating life for the actress who plays her: Viola Davis.

In real life the two-time Oscar nominee is happily married.

Given her tough character, it may surprise you to learn Davis is the mother of a boy adopted by the couple three years ago.

They named their son Genesis.

Davis and her husband, actor Julius Tennon have a production company and work on projects together but will he work on this one?

"Maybe he can be woven in there, you know, I already have two love interests, I can't have a third! It's too much for me, I can't keep track. I don't have that much energy," Davis said.

Before her husband was murdered, Viola's character was also seeing a detective who will become crucial in solving the case.

Producers promise the case will be resolved before the end of the season.
