New custom-blended skin care products help match tones
Lauren Glassberg has the latest details.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- For some people, finding the right make-up or skin care product can be a challenge. But several companies are now offering to create exactly what the customer desires.

You can get a customized skin care experience at the Kiehl's location near Union Square.

First, they measure your skin's sebum, or oil, and then a scanner measures the hydration of your skin. The information is entered into the computer, and then out comes the recipe just for you.

After testing a sample, you'll leave with a larger customized product -- complete with your own label -- for $95.

You can leave the mixing to Lancome. Le Teint Particulier is a foundation that's customized just for you.

They start by scanning your skin, which can detect 20,000 different tones. That information is entered into a computer, and a machine dispenses pigments that match those skin tones.

Another machine mixes it up, and it's uncanny how precise it is. It can match any skin color, so not more ashy or orange tones.

The cost is $80, and yes, you get your very own label.

Le Teint Particulier will be available in stores this summer.
