Sandy Kenyon review: Broadway show 'Finding Neverland'
Sandy Kenyon reporting

NEW YORK (WABC) -- As I was leaving a performance of "Finding Neverland" on Broadway a mom with two kids told me there were "no words" to describe her joy at seeing the new show, but I am going to try to find a few words to explain why it's worth seeing.

The musical is a crowd-pleaser of the kind that's too rare on Broadway these days and even rarer still, given how expensive the ticket prices have become, is the show that is definitely worth your money. Worth it in part to see big stars remind us why they're big.

Mathew Morrison follows up his long run on the TV show "Glee" by commanding the stage as J.M. Barrie, a playwright most famous for "Peter Pan." Like the film that starred Johnny Depp, the show is about finding the inspiration for his tale when he meets a widow and her boys.

Laura Michelle Kelly, who once played 'Mary Poppins' on Broadway, made my heart sing and Kelsey Grammar made me laugh playing two parts as the writer's producer and a figment of his imagination, "Captain Hook".

Act one is too long and a bit too busy, but by intermission i was, well...hooked!

There's an old saying that a show lives and dies on the word of mouth: Friends who recommend a production to other friends and judging by the reaction of the crowd at the Lunt- Fontaine Theater, "Finding Neverland" is going to soar.
