2-alarm fire tears through commercial building in Whitestone

QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- Crews battled a smoky fire at a bagel shop in Queens Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 6 a.m. at a two-story strip of stores on 14th Avenue in Whitestone.

It jumped to two alarms after spreading throughout the commercial complex.

Firefighters could be seen smashing windows to vent the building.

It is unclear how many businesses were damaged in the fire.

No injuries were reported.
