EXCLUSIVE: Good Samaritans rescue man trapped in car after crash
AJ Ross has the EXCLUSIVE from Flushing.

FLUSHING (WABC) -- A car flipped over in Queens, trapping a driver inside.

Police say Tony Chan lost control on Main Street and 37th Avenue on Saturday in Flushing while driving in reverse at a high speed, causing the SUV to flip on its roof. Witnesses say he is lucky to be alive.

The loud collision quickly brought out Ping Xie and several others to the busy intersection.

"I heard a big noise," Xie said.

Xie says moments later they noticed smoke starting to come from the SUV, and several Good Samaritans desperately worked to get Chan out.

"We were thinking maybe the car would explode, so I worried about that," adds Xie.

Xie recorded video of the Good Samaritans breaking the windshield of the car to move Chan to safety.

Chan was taken to Booth Memorial Hospital with a minor head injury. Police say no charges have been filed.
