Coffee shop charges more if you're rude
A coffee shop is making waves for its unique way to encourage its customers to be nice.

ROANOKE, Virginia -- A coffee shop is making waves for its unique way to encourage its customers to be nice.

A sign at CUPS: Coffee and Tea went to the top of the Reddit online message board.

The sign said:

"One small coffee"

$5.00

"One small coffee, please"

$3.00

"Hello, I'd like one small coffee please."

$1.75

The shop's be-nice policy has quickly gone viral.

WDBJ reports that Austin Simms put the sign up on Sunday, and the next day, a newspaper in Britain was reporting on it.

Simms said with a laugh, "I decided, because I need to solve all the injustices of the world, to start charging more for people who didn't take the time to say hello and connect and realize that we're all people behind the counter."
