DeKalb Market Hall set to open in Brooklyn
Lauren Glassberg has more on the food hall that is set to open in Brooklyn.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN (WABC) -- Food halls are all the rage across New York City right now, offering one-stop shops for a variety of food and drink.

While more locations are popping up across Manhattan, a massive facility is set to open Friday in Downtown Brooklyn. It could be one of the biggest in the country!

The finishing touches are being put on the 60,000-square foot space devoted to food.

DeKalb Market Hall is a food court on steroids.

"I'm in the food business and that means I want to eat really well," said Anna Castellani, DeKalb Market.

Castellani operates DeKalb Market which is located in the New City Point Development in Downtown Brooklyn.

Before the building went up, DeKalb Market existed in and outside shipping containers on the same site, but now it is 42 vendors strong in a subterranean space.

Shana Lawson is serving up vertical cakes served in push pops at her stand.

"It's very exciting to me to be a part of this," Lawson said.

Todd Jones used to serve his donuts at this very location years ago when it was Albee Mall. He loves this new space.

"It's a whole diversity of mom and pop, it's incredible," Jones said.

Jason Lux likes the intimacy of his Fulton Landing Seafood counter.

And across the hall, straight from the Lower East Side, is pastrami and other classics at Katz's.

You may just be tempted to pick a different vendor for every meal!
