HAUPPAUGE (WABC) -- A food pantry on Long Island which helps people in need, needs some help for itself.[br /][br /]Island Harvest in Hauppauge is in desperate need of donations.[br /][br /]They say usually around this time of year their supplies are low, but nothing like this year.[br /][br /]The pantry says demand this past summer was extremely high and supplies are now depleted.[br /][br /]"It's now set up time for us and usually our shelves are filled. We have support from the community, we have food coming in donated from across the country, but we're struggling a little bit this year," said Randi Shubin Dresner of Island Harvest. "We're committed to our social mission of feeding people who are hungry, and we're hoping to fill these shelves."[br /][br /]Island Harvest is the primary supplier to local food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency feeding programs.[br /][br /]For information on how to help, click here: http://www.islandharvest.org/get-involved/donate-food/ " TARGET="[br /]http://www.islandharvest.org/get-involved/donate-food/ " REL="[br /]http://www.islandharvest.org/get-involved/donate-food/ "][br /]http://www.islandharvest.org/get-involved/donate-food/
