NEW YORK -- Settling the Stanley Cup bet between the opposing teams' mayors has gone to the dogs.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio sang "I Love L.A." on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in Los Angeles Monday night and brought the audience Gray's Papaya hot dogs after the New York Rangers lost the Stanley Cup to the Los Angeles Kings.

While de Blasio treated the studio audience to the iconic New York dogs, Mayor Eric Garcetti brought local favorite Pink's hot dogs.

The rival hot dogs prompted Garcetti to crack, "I'm going to stick with Pink's. They make those Gray's Papaya hot dogs taste like a steaming bag of New York garbage."

Nicholas Gray, of Gray's Papaya in New York, is thinking of suing Garcetti for slander. Lunch-goers Thursday said the L.A. mayor doesn't know what he's talking about.

"He needs to come here and try 'em," said one customer in New York.
