Burn expert and 'Operation 7: Save a Life' contributor Dr. Roger Yurt to retire

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Roger W. Yurt, MD, Chief of Burns, Critical Care and Trauma at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is retiring soon. Dr. Yurt is a researcher and teacher known world-wide for his expertise in the treatment of burns and wound healing, and has been a contributor to "Operation 7: Save a Life" for many years now.

Dr. Yurt is renowned for his devotion to improving quality of life for burn victims, and for pioneering research in trauma, burns and technology that can improve treatment of burns.

He has provided invaluable tips to our ABC7 viewers, and all of us wish to thank Dr. Yurt - for sharing his medical knowledge, for spreading awareness on burns and their treatment, and for his enthusiasm for sharing this vital information through programs like Operation 7: Save a Life.

We wish him all the best for his retirement.
