New Rochelle police and firefighters are urging people to come out and donate blood on Monday in Westchester County.

A blood drive is being held at the American Legion Post 8 on 112 North Avenue starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

The Red Cross says it is experiencing a national blood emergency and it is having trouble providing hospitals with the amount of blood they need
