DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WABC) -- A New York-bound Greyhound passenger bus blew a tire and ran off Interstate 85 in North Carolina.
The bus blew the right front tire, causing it to slide into the trees along northbound I-85 at about 8:30 p.m., mile marker 98, between the exits for U.S. 64 and Lake Road.
Three other vehicles hit debris from the blown tire.
Forty-nine people were on the bus at the time of the accident. Some were treated for cuts and bruises, but none were serious or life-threatening.
The bus was coming from Atlanta on its way to New York City.
Two of three northbound lanes were closed. As of 10:46 p.m., NCDOT said two of three lanes are open and all lanes are expected to be open by midnight.
