KEW GARDENS (WABC) -- Just 4 and a half miles from Citi Field, die hard Mets fans broke out the hats, jerseys and anything else blue and orange for a late afternoon pep rally on the steps of Queens Borough Hall - all of them certain the Amazins will take a bite of the Kansas City Royals.

"I haven't slept for two and a half weeks. That's what's running through - the adrenaline that is running thorough my body is at an all-time high. I haven't felt this way since 1986," says Pam Rosen.

"I still can't believe this is happening - so many horrible years, long time suffering Mets fan," says Rochelle Goldman.

Mets fans are sky high, because trips to the Fall Classic just don't happen every day, or every year. That is why they are loving this Postseason run that should end with the team's third world championship.

Former Mets players John Franco and Edgardo Alfonzo made some special appearances.

Later in the afternoon, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano hosted a rally at the county' executive building in Mineola. The building's dome will be lit in blue and orange, the Mets' colors.

Michelle Charlesworth reports live from Nassau.
