Sandy Kenyon reviews Disney Nature's 'Monkey Kingdom'

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Amid all of the Hollywood blockbusters in wide release, a new movie debuts this weekending that is neither fast nor furious.

It's a documentary called "Monkey Kingdom" that is as gently entertaining as it is important.

The adorable animal stars of the film are given voice by Tina Fey, and to enter their kingdom in Sri Lanka is to marvel at the way Disney Nature brings their world home.

The film shows that their society very much resembles our own.

For the next week, a portion of all ticket sales goes to charity to help preserve the "Monkey Kingdom" and other wildlife habitats that are in danger.

So you can help conservation efforts just by going to see the movie in its first week of release.
