NEW YORK (WABC) -- When it comes to TV shows being made into movies, reviews come in all shapes and sizes. Some find a home with theater audiences, while others would have been better off sticking to the small screen.
So what will the verdict be when the HBO hit "Entourage" hits the big screen?
It's the movie critics love to hate, and reviewers are falling all over themselves trying to slam this movie. But entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon was a big fan of the original cable series, and he was in a mood for pure escapism and had a great time watching the film.
It picks up where the TV series left off and, it plays like a longer version of a regular episode. And if you were a fan before, you should find it satisfying enough.
The whole crew is back, and Jeremy Piven's character, Ari Gold, has been elevated to the head of production at a studio.
Ari must deal with the new realities in Hollywood, such as billionaires dabbling in the movie business, with this one played by Billy Bob Thornton. His idiot son played by former child star Haley Joel Osment from "The Sixth Sense."
A parade of celebrity cameos keep it lively and help make it much better than a slew of more boring movie fare.
Sandy points out that he has to see so many boring movies and those that bludgeon him over the head with noise and special effects that aren't so special, as well as comddies that are more stupid than funny., and he was just grateful to have some fun in the sun and laugh at and with these guys again.
