Weekend track work causing headaches for 7 train riders

QUEENS (WABC) -- There will be no service on the 7 subway line between Times Square and 74th Street this weekend.

The MTA is doing track repairs and updating the signal system as part of a multimillion dollar capital improvement plan. There will be 7 subway service between Main Street and 74th Street.

Free shuttle buses will operate along Queens Boulevard, making all stops between 74 Street and Court Square. Long Island City shuttle bus service will make all stops between Queensboro Plaza, and Vernon Boulevard and Jackson Avenue. In addition, there is extra service on the E line.

It is the first of several planned weekend shutdowns through June.

Service is scheduled to resume around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
