Elderly man riding bicycle critical after Ozone Park hit and run

OZONE PARK (WABC) -- Police are searching for the driver behind a hit and run in Queens that left an elderly man in critical condition.

The incident happened on 131st Street between Rockaway Boulevard and Sutter Avenue in Ozone Park just before 3:30 p.m.

Witnesses say the 88-year-old man was on a bicycle, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

He was rushed unconscious to Jamaica Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The vehicle is described as a blue sedan. The driver apparently stopped for a second, saw what he did, and then took off.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
