Man accused of impersonating Newark police officer
Anthony Johnson reports on the arrest of 36-year old Jaami Brantley for allegedly impersonating a police officer in Newark.

NEWARK, N.J. (WABC) -- He was dressed like a police officer and said he was a police officer, but authorities in Newark say he was not.



Sheriff's officers say they questioned 36-year-old Jaami Brantley after spotting him walking around in a Newark Police uniform.



When they pressed him for his precinct they say he ran away, but not far.



Police say he had a fake gun, a police ID, a radio, scanner, and even a summons book.



Brantley was charged with the unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, impersonating a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and the interception of emergency police communications.



He is being held on $75,000 cash bond.
