1 dead after fight breaks out at bar in Rocky Point, Long Island

ROCKY POINT (WABC) -- A man is dead after a fight at a Long Island bar, and the incident is being investigated by the Suffolk County Homicide Squad.

The altercation broke out Saturday night at the Rocky Point Ale House on Broadway.

Eyewitnesses at the scene say a fight started inside the bar and spilled out onto the street. A 911 caller reported a disturbance at the location.

Upon arrival, officers observed Michael Murphy, 42, of Rocky Point, suffering from a medical event.

Rocky Point Rescue transported Murphy to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m.

No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
