Elderly woman hospitalized after driving into construction ditch in Yonkers

YONKERS (WABC) -- Police say an elderly woman was injured Monday morning after she drove her car into a construction ditch in Yonkers.

The woman, who lives on Warburton Avenue, drove through a fence and into the ditch on her street, according to police.

The car landed on its roof.

The woman was conscious when she was removed, and was taken to the hospital with a head wound.

There is no word yet on what caused the accident.
