2 SUVs crash; Long Island woman charged with DUI

SMITHTOWN, Long Island (WABC) -- A two-car crash sent an SUV into the side of a Smithtown building.

The vehicles collided on the Nesconset Highway at Mount Pleasant Road just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

A 2008 Ford Explorer struck a 2004 Toyota Sequoia, sending the Sequoia into the side of a business.

The driver of the Sequoia, identified as Amanda Dellegar, 20, of Hauppauge, was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The Ford driver is an off-duty investigator for the Suffolk County district attorney's office who was driving home.

Both sustained non life threatening injuries.

Debris from the crash damaged the building.

The Nesconset was closed at Mount Pleasant Road for the investigation.
