7-year-old Bronx girl who survived shooting given turkey by NYPD officers

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A 7-year-old girl in the Bronx will be enjoying a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving thanks to the NYPD, after she survived being shot.

Officers gave Arianna Maldonado a Butterball turkey.

Police have stayed in touch with Arianna ever since she was shot in September.

The second grader was hit in the leg by a stray bullet while walking home with her 5-year-old sister.

The NYPD gave her a teddy bear as she recovered from the shootoing.

Police are still searching for the gunman, who fled the scene.
