1 person hurt in East Harlem high-rise fire

EAST HARLEM, N.Y. (WABC) -- One person was hurt in a high-rise fire in East Harlem Friday morning.

78 firefighters and 20 fire apparatus were dispatched around 9:30 a.m. to Lexington Avenue at East 110th Street.

They responded to the 17th floor of the 18-floor building. The blaze broke out in one apartment.

The building is one of the high rises in the Dewitt Clinton New York City Housing Authority development.

One person was seriously injured, and was taken to Mount Sinai hospital.

The fire was under control by 10 a.m.
