Pedestrian hit in Midtown by garbage truck

MIDTOWN, New York (WABC) -- A woman was struck by a private garbage truck on the East Side.

The pedestrian, believed to be in her late 70s, was struck at East 58th Street and Third Avenue just before 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The private sanitation truck driver was being questioned at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.

She is the third pedestrian struck overnight, but none of the victims is believed to have sustained life threatening injuries.
