BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut -- Bridgeport Police are searching for two suspects who fatally shot a 19-year-old pizza shop employee and critically injured his co-worker in an attempted robbery.

Police said the two men entered Grand Pizza on Main Street around 10:15 p.m. Friday through a backdoor that was kept open so the workers could get some air.

As the owner of the pizza shop fled out the front door, police said at least one suspect fired a handgun, striking both workers. Both suspects fled on foot without taking anything.

Police said Oscar Martin-Refugio of Bridgeport was shot in the heart and subsequently died from his injuries. Forty-one-year-old Humberto Berrera was shot in the chest and was rushed into surgery at Saint Vincent's Hospital.

Detectives are working to recover surveillance video from nearby businesses.
