MONSEY, New York (WABC) -- A Rockland County man is accused of sexually abusing a passenger while on a plane.

Police say Yoel Oberlander, 35, was seated next to a female passenger and her mother on a flight from Israel to Newark on May 29th.

Officials say he repeatedly placed his hand on the passenger's thigh and breast.

Oberlander is a registered sex offender in Monsey.

He was previously convicted in 2002 in New York for sexual abuse in the second degree, from his sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

He now faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
