HARLEM (WABC) -- 14 people were injured, two seriously, in a two-alarm fire Sunday morning at a high-rise building in Harlem.

The fire broke out on the 16th floor of a 35-story building located at Broadway between West 124th and 125th Streets.

The initial call was received at 10:45 a.m., and the fire was declared under control by about noon.

The injured include 7 firefighters, who all suffered minor injuries, and 2 civilian adults with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

One family on the 16th floor said smoke was pouring into their apartment. They called 911, and firefighters walked them down the stairs with towels to cover their mouths.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
