NEPTUNE, New Jersey (WABC) -- More than a dozen children were taken to the hospital in New Jersey Monday morning after a fire extinguisher went off on a school bus.

The kids were on their way to Green Grove Elementary School in Neptune Township just after 8:30 a.m. when police say a fire extinguisher fell off its bracket and engaged, spraying the exterior of the bus.

The driver pulled over and evacuated the bus. The driver and 15 children were taken to hospital as a precaution to be checked out for breathing-related complaints.

They were all treated and released.
