Teen prisoner found after escaping custody in Brooklyn

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A 19-year-old robbery suspect is back in custody after escaping from police in Brooklyn Tuesday night.

Dwayne McCleary escaped following his arrest at his apartment on Dean Street in the Weeksville Gardens Houses at about 8 p.m.

He was handcuffed when he escaped from the patrol car at Utica and Atlantic avenues and ran back to the houses.

He was arrested at around 10 p.m. in the same apartment complex, not far from the houses.

McCleary was originally arrested for robbery. Escape charges are pending.
