Girl found wandering street in Bensonhurst

BENSONHURST (WABC) -- A 2-year-old girl was found wandering outside the Brooklyn home of her aunt, who was briefly questioned by police.

She was spotted outside at 19th Avenue at 67th Street in the Bensonhurst section by passersby who called police around 6:30 a.m.

The girl was taken to Coney Island Hospital in stable condition.

The child's aunt went to police when she could not find the girl and was questioned by detectives.

The girl had been dropped off by her father at her aunt's home and apparently wandered away.

The aunt will not be charged.

Administration for children's services were notified, and the child was returned to the parents.
