BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police are searching for a young Brooklyn mother who disappeared a week ago while going to pick up food and hasn't been seen since.
"Baby, mommy is looking for you. Can you please, call someone and let somebody know you're alright," said Chantee Dawson, Destiny Dawson's mother.
It's been a week since 21-year-old Destiny Dawson disappeared.
Chantee Dawson said she knows in her heart her daughter would never abandoned her 2 and 3-year-old daughters.
"So you're telling me she left and left the kids, and never returned? I'm confused by that," she said.
Police say Destiny Dawson's boyfriend reported her missing Thursday, saying the last time he saw her was around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. She left her fourth-floor apartment at 640 Park Ave., in the Marcy Housing Complex in Bedford-Stuyvesant, to grab food nearby.
But a friend of the couple told Eyewitness News Wednesday night that she said she was meeting a friend at a nearby J subway station.
"She just said she would be right back. She was going to get a friend and was coming right back," said a friend of the missing woman.
Now, family and friends are calling, texting and sending messages on social media hoping for a clue.
Dawson is 5 feet 3 inches, and about 100 pounds with bleached blonde hair in braids. She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, grey sweat pants, blue Nike running shoes and a blue Polo cap.
Wednesday night, her daughters were with their grandmother in Harlem.
"I haven't heard anything. Her phone keeps going to voicemail. It's been going to voicemail too now. It's still going to voicemail," Chantee Dawson said.
"I just hope she comes home. We're doing everything we can to find her," Justin said.
Anyone with information in regards to this missing is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
