UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Dozens of dogs and cats from Texas arrived in New York City Friday night, to make room for Hurricane Harvey victims.

More than 80 dogs and some cats arrived at Camp Canine on the Upper West Side.

They came from shelters in Houston cleared to make space for animals displaced due to Hurricane Harvey.

Muddy Paws Rescue coordinated the trip.

The animals will go to shelters and foster homes around the area for now, but they're all up for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue.
