Con Edison power failure causes extensive subway delays

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A power failure in Brooklyn disrupted subway service Sunday.

Con Edison says it had a transmission disturbance that caused damage to some substation equipment.

The problem resulted in extensive delays on the A, C, E, F, G, 4 and 5 trains.

Service has been restored, but delays remain on the affected lines.

Riders are advised to allow additional travel time.
