Man accused of driving drunk, hitting teen on skateboard in West Hempstead

WEST HEMPSTEAD, Long Island (WABC) -- A 42-year-old man is accused of being drunk behind the wheel when he hit a teenager on a skateboard on Long Island.

It happened Friday night in a parking lot on Cherry Valley Avenue in West Hempstead.

Luis De Jesus is accused of hitting the victim, trapping him under his minivan.

The 14-year-old victim is being treated for serious head and internal injuries.
