Teen shot in the hand by older brother inside Brooklyn home

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A 13-year-old's own brother shot him in the hand in Brooklyn.

Police say the shooting happened Sunday afternoon inside a home on Hegeman Avenue in East New York.

Officers say the 17-year-old brother fled the scene after the incident and is still on the run.

The 13-year-old was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is expected to be okay.

It is unclear how the older teen got the weapon.
