NEW YORK (WABC) -- A commuter alert for people who rely on the R train in Brooklyn: Three stations on that line are getting makeovers, and those stations are going to be closed for six months.

The 53rd Street station will close Monday.

The Bay Ridge station will shut down late next month, and the Prospect Avenue station will close on June 5th.

Those stations will get new flooring, service information screens, countdown clocks and cell phone charging stations.

The rehabs are part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's initiative to modernize 33 stations.
