PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (WABC) -- A third person has died in a Monday crash involving a car and a New Jersey Transit bus.
Sixteen-year-old Amber Fernandez died Tuesday morning in the hospital.
She was a passenger in the car that collided with the bus on Franklin Boulevard in Pleasantville.
Two other passengers in the car, 14-year-old Kira Strider and 18-year-old Tevin Campbell, died at the scene.
Authorities say the car driven by 18-year-old Melissa Rodriguez of Pleasantville was northbound on Franklin Boulevard when she swerved for unknown reasons and struck the bus driven by 69-year-old Carmen Mazzagatti. The car then flipped around but remained upright.
Rodriguez and five passengers were in the car, including two people who remained hospitalized Tuesday. About 10 people were on the bus.
NJ Transit officials say Mazzagatti and two passengers suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
