Police hunt for man who punched, robbed 11-year old girl in the Bronx

FORDHAM (WABC) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect, after an 11-year old girl was punched and robbed on a Bronx street corner.

According to police, the girl was attacked Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. at the corner of East 187th Street and Bathgate Avenue.

A man punched her in the face, then stole her cell phone and book bag containing personal items.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the man they are looking for that was taken before the incident.

The girl refused medical attention.

The suspect is described as 25 years old, approximately 5'10", 200 lbs, wearing a black and gray jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt.
