FOREST HILLS (WABC) -- Fans of the band "Pearl Jam" held a fundraiser Thursday night hoping to convince the band to play a concert in Queens.

The event was held at the Austin Ale House in Kew Gardens and was a donation drive benefiting charities with ties to the band.

So far, fans have raised more than $100,000 via a crowdfunding website in an attempt to lure the band to play at the historic Forest Hills Stadium.

"You know I thought this would be great for the community and especially Forest Hills Stadium. It's been a lynch pin for historic concerts and they are trying to restore it to it's past glory and I just thought that this would be a perfect, perfect match," said Daniel Sheffer, the organizer.

Organizers say they're in touch with the band and the stadium. The band says it loves their enthusiasm.
